Different and cumbersome but interesting

We just got this brand new Bosch dryer 800 series. We did not realize how different the dryer was from a regular dryer and we were unable to install it for several days. For starters, we didn't realize it didn't have any venting but rather has a evaporation hose so we had to find some way to close up all of the normal venting that we've always had to the outside. Once we did that we realized that the dryer came with a 4-prong adapter while our electrical outlet was 3-prong so we had to order a new adapter which cost us an additional $100. Bosch was sold out of these adapters for some reason so we had to buy it from a third-party seller, which was a bit frustrating. Once our new adapter finally arrived, we were ready to install the dryer. However, we didn't realize that the drain hose for the elaboration water was supposed to fit into the same hole as non-Bosch washing machine drain hose which there was no room for. Soooooo at this point we have the drain hose emptying into a bucket until we are ready to install a Bosch washer with a smaller drain hose that it can be attached to the dryer drain hose into the right outlet opening. A bit frustrating to say the least. After all this time, we finally plugged in the dryer and all is good and seems to be working just fine. Our biggest complaint at this point now would be the lint filter needs to be completely lifted out and removed to clean it which is more time-consuming than our last dryer which all we had to do was swipe our hand into the lint filter to get the lint out. Call me old-fashioned but all the bells and whistles on this new appliance just make it seem like an engineer just wanted to get paid for new ideas.

Good but Not Excellent Product

We very much appreciate most of the features of this dryer -- internet connectivity, the lack of a dryer vent, and the overall effectiveness of drying our clothes. However, our biggest complaint is that the clothes are not always dried completely, especially our colored items. The clothes are still damp (cupboard dry, we believe is the term), which means that we have to hang them up to air dry before folding them and putting them into drawers and onto shelves. Shouldn't have to be this way. Towels and whites are fine.

Best dryer ever

I could not be happier with this dryer. It is easy to use and clothes some out soft and smelling fresh and clean. People complain that clothes are damp but it can also get clothes very dry and I do not want to overdry most of my clothing. It is good for delicate clothing, towels, workout clothes, and bulky items like duvet covers. All in all an excellent investment and worth the extra cost to get this machine. Huge improvement over what I had before and highly recommended.
