Bought the Matte black Toaster oven to match my kitchen (November 2024) and it stopped working in May 2026 just out of warranty. GE would not replace the unit and would only mail me a rebate after I bought a new unit that would only cover a bit more than half of what I would have to pay. I am not sinking anymore $ into this model or any GE toaster ovens. The last unit I had Black and Decker last over 15 years. I am very disappointed in GE Cafe.

NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.

Instructions are absent. A few recipes but NO INSTRUCTIONS with suggested settings for different foods. No ability to do a short cook after the timed cook expires. You have to start a new cook session. When a cook program is finished, an Add XX minutes function would be good. The door design sucks. The black paint behind the handle prevents looking in without opening the door. It would be very easy to look in over the handle if the black paint was not there. The wire grates and basket need a lip at the rear so they don't tip when pulled out a bit to look. Every other oven I've ever used has that no tip lip at the back of the grates Don't try to tell me the phone app has any of these settings features. I don't use a phone in the kitchen.

The worst purchase I ever made. Contrary to the advertising representations the shelves are flimsy. They do not line up with the tracks and have no safety design to prefect them from falling off when pulled. The weight of the food forces it forward snd down thereby falling from the tracks. Basket is tilted. Filthy inside from a single roast of 3 chicken thighs. The inside should be made of self cleaning dark metal like other companies use. Overall this oven disappoints on every level and every feature and I wish I could return it after the month in my kitchen.

I love the multiple features and the size is more than adequate for most of the cooking and baking for my husband and me. It is very easy to operate after reading and following the instructions on how to use the controls. I have not yet tried the pizza setting, but the other ones have worked perfectly! The only downside for me is the sound volume. Even at the highest setting, which is the factory default, it is very difficult to hear from 6 feet away. The no setting has no sound at all. Other than that, I™€™m very pleased.

Nice oven, but™€¦

We™€™ve had our mat white Cafe toaster/convection oven for just over a year. The location of the heating coils makes cleaning a little difficult. Functionally, the oven does a fine job™€"the pizza mode is excellent as is the toasting option. Our issue is appearance. The heat emanating from around the door has created browning spots. Mr. Clean Eraser nor mild Bon Ami have any affect on the spot removal. Along those same lines (heat escaping through the door)™€¦the door does not firmly close. This prevents the oven from operating. I often have to PUSH the door closed so that the oven will function. I™€™d buy another one™€"but not one that is white.

I recently purchased this unit due to our previous oven (Calphalon) breaking down just before Thanksgiving. It was very easy to set up and the instructions were easy to follow for the different cooking modes. It looks great in the kitchen and pairs well with our current appliances. The only dissappointment was the size (width) wasn't as wide as mentioned on the advertisements. Otherwise, I am looking forward to using this oven and anticipating perfectly prepared food.

I really like this product overall. It works great and I love that it™€™s nontoxic, which was a big reason I bought it. However, there are two things I™€™m not too happy about. The door doesn™€™t close as tightly as I expected ™€" you really have to push it to make sure it™€™s fully shut, otherwise the light stays on. The buttons are already peeling, and I™€™ve only had this oven for about two months. Aside from those issues, it performs really well and I™€™m happy with how it cooks. Just wish the build quality on those two details was a little better!

Love everything about this oven except a few things. 1. The door does not seal tight and therefore there is loss of heat and condensation on the exterior of the oven where the steam escapes. 2. The crumb tray isn™€™t made of stainless steel like the rest of the oven. 3. Cleaning the interior top of the oven is difficult and that area accumulates burnt on grease and other food residues. The exterior is smart and love the rose gold knobs. Love that unlike many toaster ovens and air fryers, this one has an interior light and bright display. Good capacity that can easily hold a 12™€ pizza. Great for prepping meals for a small family.

Design Flaw in Oven Door

We are extremely disappointed with the Cafe Oven in Matte White. We spent over $20K to outfit a full kitchen renovation with all GE Cafe matte white appliances including this oven which sits on our counter. It has been just over 6 months of use and the seal on the door doesn't work right and steam/oil seeps out during cooking thus the front of the oven is stained yellow. I tried every cleaner possible to remove this discoloration and it doesn't change a bit. I have filed a warranty claim and sent numerous photos and videos to show this and GE has emailed me to say it's just cosmetic and not covered. I would think a company selling a line of appliances that is promoted because of their unique appearance would be proud of the cosmetic nature and also realize that this cosmetic issue is caused by a structural flaw in the equipment (an oven door that doesn't close properly). This flaw causes the oven temperature to vary and cook time is not consistent as it is not a perfect seal. As a small business owner who uses my kitchen for a cottage bakery operation our kitchen is seen by many both online and in person. I have no choice now except to share with my friends and customers who complement our new kitchen that we are actually disappointed in our choice to go with GE Cafe. I now know from reading other reviews that I'm not the only person having this problem.

Was very happy with this product until the lower heating element came loose and broke after a year and a half. Don™€™t see a replacement part available- not spending $350 for another one. Something needs to be done about the poor quality of products causing wasted money and materials.

We love our Cafe toaster oven. We wanted something with multi functionality and this has it! It toasts, air frys, bakes, heats, proofs dough, dehydrates, crisps and more. The 3 different accessory pans are useful. Chicken wings take 18 min on air fryer mode. Croissants for two in 15, grilled cheese, 8 minutes. We use this almost every day. It is great bot having to heat up the stove! A real workhorse! The removable crumb tray makes for quick clean up.

It stopped working after 20 months

While the air fryer /toaster oven worked, it worked well. However, it is only 20 months old and it completely stopped working. After calling GE for assistance they said the 1 year warranty is lapsed and the only remedy is to buy a new one. No thanks! A unit that cost over $300 should have a little more longevity and definitely should have more recourse for repair.

The appliance seems nice, and it's the only thing that saved my review from being one star. It's the customer service for GE is absolutely dismal and pathetic! The ordering process was impossible. The delivery process had problems. Go to the website and it's not even a secure site. Even if you take a chance and go there, you can't register the product because the website doesn't work. "Your request cannot be processed at this time. The site administrator has been alerted.". Perhaps GE should invest in some sort of customer service?

I am extremely disappointed with this Cafà countertop oven. For such an expensive product, I expected exceptional quality, but it has been a huge letdown. I™€™m on my second oven (the first was replaced), and the issues are piling up. The white exterior has turned brown, the rubber pieces around the door are not staying in the grooves, the Cafà sign on the front has fallen off, and the buttons are fading. It™€™s been only a year and a half, and this once-sleek appliance is now an eyesore in my kitchen. To make matters worse, I put in a request for review at the 1 year mark of the replacement, and was promised an email where I could send pictures of the issues, but that email never came. The lack of follow-through on customer service only adds to my frustration. This has been a complete waste of money, and I cannot recommend this product to anyone.

I love the cafe air fryer and probably my number one reason is you can toast in it with a crisp finish. It does take awhile to toast, all air fryers do but this one makes it the best. The look is beautiful. It fits on the counter with room in front and I don™€™t have large counters. Over all, I™€™m very happy with my purchase.

What more could you ask for? Love this countertop oven and use it almost exclusively. It does everything I need and a beautiful addition to my kitchen as well!
